Hello

I strive to provide a welcoming, safe, and non-judgmental environment where you can share and develop new narratives and strategies to improve your quality of life. I am open-minded and will endeavour to help you bring new awareness and perspective to whatever you wish to discuss.

My Story

As an introvert and an empath, it is typically more in my nature to listen to others rather than talk about myself, so the short version of my story is: I understand what it is like to be unable to thrive due to poor mental health, and because of this, my professional goals have always centered around helping others. For those of you who appreciate a good "tldr", that's me in a nutshell.

The more detailed version is that I was what you would call a highly-sensitive child, and in my adolescent years I suffered from debilitating anxiety and a bout of depression that wreaked havoc on my life at the time. Anxiety is something that has followed me throughout my life, and I have worked hard to learn to manage it. These mental health struggles have shaped the person I have become. Now as an adult, I have built a skillset that allows me to better work through my anxiety when it comes up, and I feel I have a lot of postsecondary knowledge and life experience to share with others.

My comfort zone is learning, and I poured my heart and soul into postsecondary education first with a liberal arts degree with an emphasis on social justice, multiculturalism, gender studies and equality (BA, 2014, Queen’s University, ON). Then my love for animals led me to become a Registered Veterinary Technologist (2016, University of Guelph, ON). In this career, I occasionally witnessed the mental health struggles of co-workers and pet owners after loss of companion pets, which ultimately brought me back to wanting to support people through life's many challenges. I went on to earn my Master’s Degree in Applied Counselling Psychology (MACP, 2022, Yorkville University, NB). Today, I feel fortunate to be able to dedicate my working life to helping people overcome obstacles that are currently affecting their mental health and ability to thrive.

I moved to Saskatoon from Ontario in 2020 and have truly enjoyed prairie living since then. I live with my partner, who is SK-born, and our much-loved dog and cat. I enjoy yoga, going for walks with the dog, and spending time with friends. I am a big lover of books, so you'll often find me curled up with a novel and the cat (especially during the long prairie winter). Finally, I believe it is important to laugh and not take oneself so seriously, so I try to find the humour in daily life where I can.

I hope you take a couple more minutes to browse my services and booking pages. If you have any questions, please email me or call my office. I will respond promptly.
